about

Back in 2009 there was a lot going on in both mine & Steve's lives that made making music more intense and personal. Out of our shared experiences was born 'Soon You Will Die...'. We wrote and rehearsed the songs, and knew there was something missing; that missing element was our friend, Lisa. Temple Music was doing a lot of live shows at the time, and we performed the songs appearing here in a very stripped down form - sometimes with just two dulcimers. I went across to the Ghent Feest with J from SQE, where Ruben de Somer introduced me to Wim from Silken Tofu, who was enthusiastic about releasing something by Temple Music; Steve and I had already recorded most of this album, and mixed it over a pretty intense weekend. It's an album I've always been really happy with, and always meant to upload... I was finally prompted to do this by the sudden and totally unexpected death of my good friend and collaborator Albin Julius Martinek. The album is presented here as four separate tracks, but the original is preserved as a bonus download. It has been remastered to take advantage of superior technology, but only minimally. Carpe Diem, people. Carpe the fucking Diem.
